The widows, numbering about 20 were selected by the The Ondo State born ace actress who engaged them in a 5-day workshop makeover event tagged ‘The 20 Widows Makeover’. Omotola had put up this event in remembrance of her mother who passed on ten years ago.
The queen of the screen gave the widows a never dull moment and memorable treatments. She made them go through some beauty routines such as facial and body massage, total body transformation (facial, hairstyle, costume, etc). These were all carried out by some hired professionals who obviously knew their onions.
Popular celebrity photographers were on ground to give the widows nice photo shoot session which was followed by some shopping activities.
Gift items such as bags of rice, kitchen utensils and many other s were distributed to the widows at the main event held in Lekki Lagos.
The Amnesty International Ambassador had said, “This is something I wish or someone had done for my mother. If you give these women money, they would spend it on their kids.
“When my mother was alive, I didn’t know I was going to lose her so soon. This is one thing I would have loved to do for my mum who was a widow for 10 years. It was lovely and fulfilling to see this happen,” She had stated.
