25years Old Female Banker killed over Blackberry Torch

Damilola Sowemimo a female banker with United Bank for Africa was killed on Sunday  by two unknown gunmen operating on a motorcycle

we  learnt that Sowemimo, 25, was killed in front of her parent’s house at 1, Agbor Close, Isolo Way, Ajao Estate while going to church in the morning .

Brother to the deceased, Adebayo Adeniyi Adekunle said,"Damilola was killed infront of our gate by some guys suspected to be barrack boys while trying to snatch her BB Torch phone". It was gathered that the deceased was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital but later gave up the ghost as she bled profusely

The Police Public Relations Officer for the state command, Mr. Joseph Jaiyeoba, who also confirmed the incident added that the police had started investigating the case and beef-up security in the area so as to prevent a recurrence

SSS Advices Wole Soyinka to shave beards

Nigerian Nobel laureate, writer, poet, and playwright, Wole Soyinka, after he revealed that his name is on the hit list of bomb throwers, Boko Haram. Soyinka, a national treasure by any standards and the winner of Best Afro in Nigeria for many years running, also revealed that Nigerian security services have thus far made no tangible efforts to protect him against the terrorist group.

New evidence uncovered however suggests that contrary to what some may think, the SSS are actually taking the death threat seriously and have put measures in place to protect Soyinka. Amongst suggestions put forward by the security agency is an appeal to the Nobel laureate to shave off his Afro and beard.

Said a SSS agent: “Nobody will recognise him without this beard so we have told him to cut it off, and to start peaking in broken English.” Funny!!!

Jonathan Appoints Nuhu ridabu to head petroleum task force

President Goodluck Jonathan has appointed former EFCC Chairman, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu to head a task force on Petroleum rvenue Task Force.

Consistent with the policies and promises of President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan’s Administration, and underpinned by the yearnings of the people of Nigeria for transparency in the Petroleum Industry, the Honourable Minister of Petroleum Resources has set up a Petroleum Revenue Special Task Force designed to enhance probity and accountability in operations of the Petroleum Industry.
The Petroleum Revenue Special Task Force, whose membership is listed below, is charged with the following terms of reference:

1. To work with consultants and experts to determine and verify all petroleum upstream and downstream revenues (taxes, royalties, etc.) due and payable to the Federal Government of Nigeria

Popular Nigerian actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has launched a production company Redhot Concept, which will be producing documentaries and movies.
The mother of four has excelled as an actress and experimented with music.
Her new production company will be producing documentaries as well as movies.
The documentaries will not necessarily be commercial as they will focus on personal lives, events, and informal activities such as weddings, birthdays and naming ceremonies.
Sources say that the actress is putting a team together, and work is on- going from her Lagos office.
RedHot concept will work on inside projects are well as on those commissioned by clients, a source revealed.

Father flogs child to death

A man has been on the run for the past seven days for a crime against his own blood. A thirty-four year old driver whose name ( withheld ) allegedly flogged his five-year old daughter to death.
The unpleasant incident happened on the 27^th January in Warri, South Local Government of Delta State.
Information reaching us claims that the culprit is still on the run. It was gathered that Bethel, the victim had gone to visit her single mother at No 22 Numa Mejeyi Street, Iyara, Warri South Local Government after having been separated from her father a source claimed;
“Bethel was a kindergarten pupil of Holy Cross Schools, Warri. That day when she left school, she went to her mother’s house instead of her father’s.
“On getting home, her father flogged her. We pleaded for her but he refused.She died the next day at the Warri Central Hospital. Her father took her body to the mortuary and disappeared.”
Bethel’s mother Esther Uremure alleged that her estranged husband was responsible for their daughter’s death”.
Her words: “I was not home that day when she came. It was someone who called me that my child was around, but before I rushed back her aunty had taken her back home.
“Later that day, they told me that my child was not feeling well that she was in the hospital.
“I informed some members of Iyara community about the situation. But before I got to the hospital, I was told my daughter had died and that her father had disappeared.
“Please help me find him. Let him at least come to tell me what exactly happened.”
Police spokesman Charles Muka confirmed the incident. He acknowledged that the suspect was still at large.
