Emeka Ike’s Four Year Old Son Drives Car Into Supermarket

Popular Nollywood actor, Emeka Ike, had every reason to thank God on Wednesday, as his three-year old son escaped death by the whiskers in a car accident.

The accident occurred at about 3:30 p.m. in Magodo Phase 1, Shangisha, Lagos. The little boy was said have gone out with his mother when the accident took place.

“Lagosians were terribly discomfitured on  Thursday with the traffic jam, needlessly, if I must say. There is  the need for public officers generally to be more sensitive to the people we serve,” Governor Babatunde Fashola said yesterday.
You could say he was speaking the minds of many Lagosians whose lives were severly disrupted during the visit of Patience Jonathan for her ‘peace advocacy tour’. Security operates had put most the state in lockdown with roadblocks in several areas.
The Lagos governor made this statement at a retreat organised for members of the State’s Executive Council and Body of Permanent Secretaries.
“It is particularly worrisome because this is not an elected person, he continued. “And I think we all, including the security agencies, must know how they pander to our high officers, especially VIP movement, at the risk and expense of citizens and taxpayers whose money was used to fuel all the vehicles  that we used to block the roads against those who pay those money.
The traffic jam, which lasted several hours, particularly affected several areas on the Lagos Island, Ikoyi and Victoria Island. Some commuters were forced to talk long walks, while motorists were grounded for up to 5 hours.
“It is an issue that calls for greater sensitivity to the comfort of our citizenry. Yes, I understand the need to protect the VIPs, but it must be done in a way that it doesn’t impoverish,” Fashola dug in.
“It should not get to the level that we shut down the roads in the state because the VIP wants to pass. If they let us know earlier because going through these  roads without shutting them down, traffic can be managed.
“Nigerians respect their leaders elected or not elected and they will very sensibly and gladly yield to them to go and do their business. But I don’t think they deserve to be kept on the roads, standstill for five hours.”

We won’t swap Odemwingie for Johnson – Hodgson

Roy Hodgson has insisted that Peter Osaze Odemwingie is not for sale in the summer. West Brom’s star striker has been consistently linked with a move away from the Hawthorns.
Recenty, he was the subject of speculations about a swap involving him and Fulham’s Andy Johnson. Hodgson as quick to shoot down the stories.
“Peter Odemwingie is an important player for us and a player we believe in and a player we want to keep and a player who is not for sale,” he said.
“We don’t welcome offers for Peter Odemwingie. He is a West Brom player at the moment and will be next season. We want to keep him and he is under contract. Very simple really.”

Suspected human eater, Cliford Orji goes mad in Kirikiri prison

Feelers reaching us from the Kirikiri Maximum Prison where the alleged human eater, Cliford Orji he has been awaiting trail for 13 years indicate that the 45-year-old man had completely gone mad.

According to the Deputy Comptroller of the prison, Mr. Noel Ailewon, Orji was in a bad state and had gone completely mad.

“Orji’s health is getting worse. He has gone completely mad, vomiting and even defecating without restraint and is naked most of the time,” he noted.

The DCP made this known yesterday (Thursday) during a visit to the prison by the Lagos State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Ade Ipaye, and representatives of the Office of the Public Defender.

OPD Director, Mrs. Omotola Rotimi, said all efforts made to address Oji’s mental state were fruitless.

He said: “Initially, we took Orji to Psychiatric Hospital, Yaba, but was rejected because they claimed they did not have long-term medical facilities. Subsequently, he was taken to another hospital in Ewekoro but was similarly rejected,” she said.

 “Orji is mentally disturbed and no hospital is accepting him. Unfortunately, one cannot be tried if one is mentally unstable. So, he’s

stuck in the middle. All we can do now is find help for him,” he said.

It would be recalled that Orji was arrested in February 1999 by the police at Toyota Bus-stop on Oshodi/Apapa Expressway with human parts, which he reportedly claimed he sold to eminent Nigerians.

Don Jazzy speaks, Wande Coal says “I can’t take it any longer”

So this morning, emails emerged that were purportedly leaked from exchanges between Don Jazzy and D’banj, former Mo’Hits Records heads who have now gone their separate ways.
The vicious back and forth made it clear the two young men won’t be back together anytime soon. Most striking were claims of Dban’j’ buying multi-million dollar cars for Don Jazzy and his brother D’Prince. The emails also revealed that D’Prince – who is mired in a scandal over the murder of a Lagos night-club boss – actually has no record deal with the label.
When contacted by NET, both of D’banj’s representatives denied the content of the emails strongly. According to his manager, known as Bankulli (Abisagboola Oluseun), “Dban’j has nothing to do with that,” adding the singer is “too busy” to be involved in this.
Don Jazzy’s response said little but was perhaps loud in its confirmation: “Lol just read it. Eyaaaa such a sad story. Oh well, there is a yoruba saying that goes like this. Oro pesi je, oro di HMMMM” (Rough translation: It’s all out there now.)
This evening, the hitherto quiet Wande Coal joined the fray. “As much as I would like to be quiet on this issue. seeing peoples response to this so called leaked emails i can’t take it any longer,” he tweeted from his handle @wandecoal. “‘Saying that he bought a car for donjazzy is wrong and untrue. come onnnnnn. well i dont think he said it sha until i see a video of it.”
The singer has been on a tour, performing in Malaysia and set to perform in Dubai tonight.
Then he makes it clear what he thinks of D’banj: “God please don’t let the success you have given me get to my head to the extent that I will forget my humble beginnings. @donjazzy baba i hail you dieeeeee. will be back from dubai tomorrow.”
Okay – the knives are out officially. But, how long before Nigeria gets tired of this back and forth?

Wife, Children And Boyfriend Beats Husband To Death

Tragedy struck in Ikpamodo Village, Enugu-Ezike in Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State last weekend when a housewife, (names withheld), her three children and the woman's boyfriend, allegedly beat her husband to death.

The deceased was a popular bicycle repairer in the town. He was a Catholic.
His offence: The late bicycle repairer was accused by his widow of disturbing her with his early morning prayers. The widow is a native doctor.
A family source told Daily Sun that the woman, had allegedly been tormenting her husband and even built her own house, demarcating her husband's compound with a big fence.

On the day, the man was murdered, she was said to have told her husband that she was not comfortable with the manner in which he had been disturbing her charms by saying long prayers every morning. But the husband, a devout Roman Catholic, told her that he had never supported her practice as a native doctor.

A serious argument ensued between them which led to physical attack. Another man, said to be her boyfriend, who is also a native doctor, was alleged to have joined her in attacking the deceased. The man's children rushed to the scene and instead of separating their parents, allegedly assisted in beating their father with sticks and logs of wood. The man slumped and died. Sensing that her husband had died, the widow, her children as well as her "external husband" took to their heels, abandoning the man's body..

Neighbours and villagers arrived the scene. They took the body to the Ogrute General Hospital, but the doctor confirmed him dead. His body was later deposited at the hospital's mortuary. The matter was reported at Ogrute police station. The suspects were promptly detained before being transferred to the state Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Enugu. There was tension in the community. The youths organized themselves and set the six-room apartment of the widow ablaze.

One of the irate youths who spoke to our reporter, but did not want to be named, said: "This is an abomination in our community. Nobody has ever committed such sacrilege. That is the reason we decided to take the law into our own hands and burn her building to serve as a deterrent to any other person who may try such evil act again"

Enitan Adeshola Okesanya, NIJ Student Goes Nude, Says I Want To Break Into Nollywood

A 300-level student of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, NIJ, Ogba, Lagos, southwest Nigeria, has gone nude to break into the big league of the glamorous Nigerian movie industry, known as Nollywood, saying she wants to be famous and rich.
The 21-year-old student, Ms. Enitan Adeshola Okesanya, vowed to enter the industry with a big bang.
“I think there is something missing in the industry and that’s me. I seriously think so. I have got this talent and passion inside me that I want to show to everybody out there. I want the world to see what I have got inside me, the God-given talent inside me, and I know that the media are actually waiting for that young person that will come and blow everybody away. That’s why I believe that they are looking for me,” she told our correspondent last night as both scanned through her bawdy pictures.
To break into the world’s third biggest movie industry, Enitan said, she will go as far as her strength will carry her.
“As long as my strength can carry me. Since it’s about passion, I don’t think I can get tired. I will not stop until I am done, not even when I am tired.
“I love acting. I love fame. I hate poverty and I want to be rich. Ever since I was a child I always wanted to be in the big screen. I think the time has come for me to show the world what I’ve got inside me,” she said.
She said taking controversial pictures make her controversial and appealing. “I think because I am personally crazy. I love creativity. I love doing things that are so unusual. I don’t want to be doing everyday things. When I take a picture and people keep wondering, who’s that girl? I want to just create a controversy. That’s why I love taking crazy pictures,” she said.
Enitan said she will use acting and movie to reach to people who need help in the society.
“Acting is basically more than what we see on the screen. I could use acting to pass messages to the less privileged out there, to different people in our society. I could use acting and movies to impact knowledge into people’s lives because there are so many people out there that are looking for one thing or the other and through the expression of what I feel inside, through acting, I believe that I could pass messages across to the average people out there.”
The actress to be who was born on 7 May 1991 hails from Epe Local Government. She is the first child in a family of six and lost her father in 2010.
She said she loves dancing and acting and has a strong belief that she will be successful, anyhow.

Heartless Man Slices Off 12-Year-Old Boy’s Manhood And Disappears With It

Settlers of Mararaba Liman Katagum in Bauchi Local Government area of Bauchi State are still wondering with one hand akimbo and head bow about the bizarre incident that greeted them recently as a 25-year-old Tukur Illiyasu sliced off the manhood of a 12-year-old Ayuba Halilu and disappeared with it.

The suspect was alleged to have cut off little Ayuba's penis and vanished with the organ after begging the boy to accompany him to the bush in the village to fetch firewood.

The boy, who was also hacked in the throat by his captor, miraculously survived the ordeal after being hospitalised for nearly three months leaving him without John Thomas.

Narrating his ordeal in the hand of the stonyhearted man, dejected Ayuba said they were going quietly when something inexplicable happened to him and he went blank. According to him, when he came to, he found himself in deep pains. His penis was gone and he felt pains on his throat.

He said: "The distance between the bush and the Mararaba Liman Katagum community is about one and a half kilometres.

"On their arrival in the bush, Ayuba stepped on a thorn and requested Tukur to remove the torn from his foot. But on approaching the boy, he removed a very sharp object and cut his throat as well as his private part."

Ayuba who is still recuperating at home, said he started crying for help in Fulfude language, asking the older man why he had brought him to the bush in order to kill him.

It was gathered that Tukur, after cutting of Ayuba's manhood flee to an unknown destination leaving the boy in the pool of his blood who narrowly made his way to Mararaba Liman Katagum

Return Bentley I Bought For You – D’Banj Tells Don Jazzy

The latest on the rift between two former Mohits label owners, Don Jazzy and D’Banj is the shocking revelations from a purported leaked e-mail.
According to the e-mail, D’Banj claims he is more generous than Don Jazzy.
A copy of the e-mail (sent on March 17), which first exclusively got to a reporter with Punch newspaper,but was later gotten across to websites and blogs

That Mohits Records does not already own 100 per cent of the songs. Note that Mohits Records only owns 60 per cent of the songs and 40 per cent belongs to the individual artiste.
So, 40 per cent of the songs is not mine to give. That me [I am] giving him (D’banj) my share of the catalogue does not and will never include him having the right to stop them (the artistes) from performing the songs or give him the right to claim any monies for live performances of these songs.
And any loans or debt owed by Mohits Records as at today will be cleared by Mr D’banj as I am clearly not aware of any.
So, songs like Wande Coal’s Go Low and Been Long You Saw Me are not part of this catalogue he is receiving. Also, an artiste like D’Prince, not only has he not released any album, he has not signed any contract whatsoever with Mohits Records.
That he has no right to claim any monies for deals that have been brokered already as at today with the catalogues or stop their usage. It is important to note that any unreleased songs done by any artiste (including D’banj and K Switch) MUST NOT be released and is not part of the catalogue I am giving away.
With these few points, I do hope that you all realise that I have been generous enough to facilitate the end of the “D’banj & Don Jazzy” era as a team.
After this new deal has been signed and sealed, I do NOT look forward to seeing an email whatsoever or hearing from the DKM (D’banj, K-Switch, Mohits) crew, and all is well again.

D’Banj’s Reply To Don Jazzy
In case he (Don Jazzy) forgot, this is the arrangement! 50/50—–song writer/
production, which means for a song X for artiste Y, 75 per cent as per production is fully owned by Mohits and writing is shared 25/25 with the individual artiste co- writing.
So, that’s the deal! So him saying 40 percent is not his to give away is more like 75 percent for me and 25 percent for each artiste.
What do you mean by any bills or loans would be cleared by Mr. D’banj? That will never happen because when I ran the company, I ran it perfectly and well. So, if I give him my shares he is left with 100 per cent liability.
My catalogue is everything that has been done with the Mohits system and under the normal agreement we have, that means everything I have recorded or that has been recorded whether new or old, or even classic, whether beat with concept or even idea without beats, anything we did as a team and sponsored by me throughout, then, it is mine. Including K-Switch clause and all mine and even Wande’s singles and all till the date of signing even today.
And now, [I] wanna clear the air on this Samsung deal! I would expect by now that you understand that me keeping quiet is being GENEROUS because this is a deal structured under Mohits Records, [and it is] the first deal and income you would ever bring into the company in eight years.
We shared the first 150k (One hundred and fifty thousand dollars) the right way, 1/3 down and that was cool. But after you collected another 130k and did not say anything [that] is and could be described as theft! I only refused to contact them (Samsung) directly because of your reputation.
But please don’t call me a fool and let’s know who is generous!” Please, please, will he (Don Jazzy) return the Bentley because I bought it for him and it was N5.2m more than mine?
And Prince that he claims has no signed contract but is actively involved and signed via engagement– I win his catalogue too – all recorded whether released now or not!
This is because no one questioned me when I bought D’Prince N11m naira car (LR3/Range) without releasing any album just to boost the image of the boy and it worked for him! So, let’s get the facts straight, I AM BEING MORE THAN GENEROUS

His respect for Kanye West, his new "boss" (as D'Banj describes him) is so immense that in the video for his new single, 'Oliver Twist' , D'Banj left out every single member of the Mo' Hits family, including Don Jazzy who produced the track, but ensured that not only Kanye West, but other acts on the G.O.O.D Music label appeared, including Big Sean, Pusha T and producer Hit Boy.

Unfortunately a few weeks later, Kanye releases the first single from forthcoming (and highly anticipated) G.O.O.D Music compilation, 'Mercy' (Lamborghini Murciélago), and D'Banj is nowhere to be found on it. *sorry face*

Truth be told, your music is what people are interested in, not the un-africanization / westernization of your name, heck, just go study the life of Tupac Amaru Shakur to see how having an ethnic name is immaterial to one's success. Or go further back and study the work of one of your mentors, the late, great Fela Anikulapo-Kuti who actually went from his westernized "Ransome-Kuti" to the very Nigerianized "Anikulapo". Till today his name still rings out in all corners of the world, heck he was even immortalized with a show on Broadway.

Nigerian movie marketers are making plans to stop DSTV Channel, African Magic from showing Nigerian movies.

The movie marketers made this known at a press confrence on Wednesday, at O'jez bar and resturant at the National Statdium in Surulere.

The Nollywood movie merchants said that they will write to DSTV about their decision, because African Magic has reduced the purchase of Nollywood movies.

Some of us think they should be grateful to DSTV for helping them promote some fairly good movies, thus making some persons to still have confidence in Nollywood.
