K-solo turns scam, beats wife and steals from her.

Top music producer K-Solo married Kikelomo Akinkunmi in November 2011. By May 2012, the marriage was over. The wife told City People in an exclusive interview that the marriage ended because K-Solo was in it for money and also because he assaulted her so much she lost the pregnancy she was carrying when they got married.

K-Solo and I met on Facebook in April 2011 and continued our friendship on Blackberry. We eventually met face to face at a show in Eko Hotel in Lagos. I am not really based in Lagos. I am always in Warri, Port Harcourt, South Africa or Cameroon. I am always traveling because of my business. But because of K-Solo I started coming to Lagos frequently after we started dating.

CocoIce set to drop 1st Video on June 12

You’ve heard her dropping some of the dopest bars and illest rhymes, now here’s a icing on the cake as CocoIce aka Mojisola Serah Sowole picked Tuesday 12th of June, 2012 to drop one of the most anticipated music video of the year, the video of the hit song, “If U Don’t Know”, a remake of the late DaGrin’s hit street anthem, “PonPonPon”.
The video for the song which was produced by the young and talented director Aina Mathew aka Matt Max who’s one dude with eyes for details is set to take the industry by storm. According to Matt, “I’ve taking the time out to come up with a beautiful concept for the video. Something totally different from what we anticipated people will be expecting. We are taking Naija music to the next level with this video which I strongly believe lovers of good music videos will surely love and appreciate”, he stated.
Talking about the song “If U Don’t Know”, the sexy rapper explained, “I did a remake  of “Pon Pon Pon” as my own way of paying tribute to the late DaGrin who taught me so much and brought the best out in me, and also as a way of showing the people my versatility”.

Popular Nollywood actress Genevive Nnaji has been known for quite a number of roles in the entertainment industry. From the cute sweetheart that got people stuck to their television sets with her unique acting skills, to that woman who caused a number of people to put on their dancing shoes with her venture into music.

She was also a one-time Face of Lux and MUD cosmetics; now she’s gone all the way into the world of classic automobile with her new deal. She has been endorsed as the ambassador of Range Rover SUV brands in Nigeria.

The Range Rover is a big luxury four-wheel drive sport utility vehicle (SUV) produced by Land Rover, a British car maker. The model which is now in its third generation was launched in 1970 and developed by Land Rover as its premium brand.

It is used as a brand name on two models – the Range Rover Sport and the Range Rover Evoque.

The deal between Nnaji and the car company was negotiated in Nigeria by Coscharis motors which is the car brand owner in Nigeria. The company initially had a tough time weighing Nnaji and actor, Desmond Elliot before determining she was the candidate for the role.

Reports say she will get $100,000 in the first six months of the deal and at least $250,000 subsequently. She will also be presented with a Range Rover Sports SUV which is the car in vogue among A-List celebrities in Nigeria.

The deal will reportedly run for 12 months and afterwards may or may not be renewed.

Igbinedion university student stabs roommate 7 times with scissors

Some students of the Igbinedion Univeristy, Okada, Edo State, contacted me yesterday about an incident that happened in their school involving two room mates, Chioma Onyeagwe and Hope Amadi. They had a fight over a shirt, and one of them nearly lost her life.

According to reports, Hope Amadi borrowed Chioma's cloth and refused to return it for many days. When Chioma asked for her cloth back on Tuesday June 5th, Hope allegedly became extremely aggressive and the two girls got into serious argument. Then a fight ensued. Witnesses say Hope Amadi picked up scissors from their room and stabbed Chioma seven times on the neck, arm and other places. Chioma was rushed to the Igbinedion University Teaching Hospital, where doctors reported that Chioma was stabbed on her artery, and that if she hadn't been rushed to the hospital when she was she would have died.

Hope Amadi has been suspended from school.

The Wizkid UK Tour bus finally stops in London on the 4th of June 2012. The stage was set for Wizkid, suprise guests as well as UK based Afrobeats stars, 2kriss, Mr Silva and crew. All the performing acts had their sound check on stage at the HMV Hammersmith Apollo a few hrs before the doors opened and Factory78tv was granted access to witness it all. 

BBA Update: DKB apologises for slapping Zainab

Following his physical assault on fellow ex-housemate, Zainab after both had a provocation, DKB has released an official statement apologising for his act.
The Ghanaian comedian and the country’s representative in the Big Brother Africa Stargame show released the statement after arriving Ghana yesterday.
Both DKB and Zainab from Sierra Leone were evicted from the show after the incident.
Here is DKB’s official statement on his apology;
“Lovely people of Africa, there are many things I wish I could do to reverse this unfortunate incident but as we all know, one cannot go back in time.
I had the opportunity of a lifetime to entertain Africa on the most coveted platform but I messed it up due to my
act of indiscipline.

Dana Crash: FG set up 9-man committee to audit airlines

The federal government, yesterday set up a nine-man airlines audit committee, as part of the measures to forestall future plane crashes.
It will be recalled that on Sunday, 153 passengers of a local Dana aircraft which was flying from Lagos to Abuja, died after it crashed into a residential area in Iju, a suburb of Lagos.
The Technical and Administrative committee, headed by Group Captain John Obakpolor (rtd), an aeronautical engineer is expected to look into up-to-date audit of all airlines.

Other members of the panel are Captain Austin Omame, Capt Dele Sasegbon, Dr OB Aliu, FC Onyeyiri, Capt Mfon Udom, Capt Muhtar Usman, Dr Tony Anuforom and Capt A Mshelia.

The government assured that the outcome of the committee’s report, which has six months to do its work, will be made public.

Dana Crash: “Their ghost may come after us” –Residents beg FG not to bury victims near house

Although, the practice of burying the remains of casualties in close proximity, or in the site where the incident happened is not a new tradition, but such a practice may turn into a nightmare for resident of the area where Dana Airline crashed and killed over 153 persons in Iju-Ishaga area of Lagos.
Some residents of the area have called on the authorities to bury the victims of the Sunday ill-fated Dana Air plane crash far from the area because of ghosts.
According to a 24-year-old Idayatu Ali, “for fear of ghosts we want them to be buried far from where people are living”.
The unemployed school leaver believes that human beings are no goats and when they die prematurely, especially, violently, their ghosts will haunt the scene for a while.

Police nab man, 62, for raping 10-year-old girl

A 62-year-old Mr. Balogun Segun (not real) has been remanded prison custody by an Osogbo Magistrate’s Court for allegedly raping a 10-year-old girl (name withheld) in Osogbo, the Osun state capital.

According to the charge sheet read in court on Tuesday, June 5 Osunade is being accused of perpetrating the act on May 27, 2012, at his residence in Tonkere village, Gbongan town in Ayedaade Local Government Area, Osun State.

When his plea was taken, the accused pleaded not guilty to the one-count of rape.
