Arsenal postpone pre-season game in Nigeria

Arsenal Football Club has announced it is reluctantly postponing its proposed trip to Nigeria this summer.

The Club has taken the decision as a result of complexities linked to the planned game against Nigeria on Saturday, August 5 in Abuja.

Arsenal marketing director Angus Kinnear said: "Bringing a top-level club to an international market is always complicated and logistically challenging. With the proposed match in Nigeria planned for early August, we could not get comfortable on everything needed to satisfy our requirements, so we have reluctantly taken the decision to postpone the team’s visit."

Nike Oshinowo gets N100m UNWTO/Tinapa deal

She may have lost the Miss Nigeria Franchise, but the former beauty queen is still all ab out upgrade. Nike Oshinowo last month got a N100m deal from the Cross River State government to organise The United Nations World Tourism Organisation event. The event, which was a gathering of African tourism ministers whose countries are affiliate members of the UNWTO, held at Tinapa Lakeside Resort, Calabar, Cross River State from the 25th to the 27th of June.

The explosion occurred at the busy Banex Plaza in Wuse 2 Abuja yesterday night, Abuja Police PRO has confirmed. Below is an official statement from the Nigeria Police Force in Abuja:

"Today 3rd July 2012 at about 9:30pm, a low level explosion went off somewhere along Aminu Kano Crescent, near Banex Plaza, Wuse 2, Abuja. The incident had a zero casualty record- no life lost, no person injured and no car damaged or burnt. The 21 year old footballer is expecting a child with his 24 year old ex-girlfriend Raffaella Fico who is a model. Raffaella revealed this week that she found out she was pregnant in May a month after they broke up. Raffaella and Mario dated for over a year but broke up in April this year because of the footballer's alleged affairs with other women. Raffaella herself once dated Footballer Cristiano Ronaldo.
Raffaella told reporters that Mario is excited about being a dad and they might reconcile for the sake of their child.

I Have Tape Evidence Against Charly Boy; Let's Meet In Court –Publisher

The controversial story linking the area father, Charly Boy, to gay activities is far from being over. While the former PMAN President has denied the report and even asked his lawyer to sue National Mirrow, a paper owned by popular Billionaire, Jimoh Ibrahim, Olu gathered that another publisher has declared that he has a "tape" that will expose the truth.

Ed Jatto, the publisher of Danfo Express, has reacted to a press release by Charly Boy on the matter. He said his credibility is at stake and he will not allow anyone to embarrass him. “I find it laughable that Charly Boy is subtly backtracking now,” said Jatto.

“He knows I have the tape, I told him when he asked me, and if he had asked to listen to it then, I wouldn’t have minded playing it to him. As it is now, I am not interested in playing it to him at any kangaroo press conference.

"Charly Boy believes so much in suing people. We all know he has sued National Mirror and now he wants to sue me too. So, I’ll just say he should go ahead and sue and we’ll meet in court where the tape will eventually be played for the whole world to hear,” he assured.

Jatto disclosed that he is also preparing to sue Charly Boy as soon as the truth comes out. “I like men who stick to their words, which he hasn’t done. When the tape is played in court and I’m vindicated, I would press for damages because he has caused me considerable embarrassment. It is too late for him now to start asking me to bring the tape to a press conference," he said.

Justice Isaac has discharged and acquitted Nollywood actress, Bimbo Akinsanya of an alleged murder charge brought against by one Rev. Pat Ogechi Dennah in 2011. Delivering the judgement yesterday morning, Justice Isaac said that the prosecuting counsel could not prove its case against Bimbo. As a result, she was discharged and acquitted by the court.
